Monet, in 1920 at the age of 80, began to paint 12 large canvases of waterlilies, each of 14 feet in width. He had never created such a large-scale mural art form in his past. The paintings present a broad, sweeping style; limited in subject matter, with large, encompassing spaces generated almost exclusively by color. These Autograph Mural reproductions represent this large scale presentation as intended by the originals.
